Scholarship Overview

The GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders are designed to support talented professionals committed to advancing public health and health-related research in Africa. By equipping scholars with advanced knowledge and skills, the program aims to enhance the capacity of health systems and foster research innovations that address pressing health challenges across the continent.

These scholarships are exclusively available for full-time, face-to-face MSc programs at LSHTM, excluding joint programs such as MSc Global Mental Health and MSc Veterinary Epidemiology.

Scholarship Benefits

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the GSK Scholarships, applicants must:

1. Nationality and Residence: Be nationals of and residents in a Sub-Saharan African country.

2. Return Commitment: Commit to returning to Sub-Saharan Africa after completing the MSc program.

3. Financial Need: Confirm inability to afford the program without the scholarship.

4. Academic Qualifications: Hold a first or upper-second-class degree or its equivalent.

5. Language Proficiency: Meet LSHTM’s minimum English language requirements

6. Admission Offer: Secure admission to a full-time, London-based MSc program at LSHTM for the 2025–26 academic year.

7. Demonstrated Potential: Show potential to contribute significantly to public health and research in Africa.

Application Procedure

The application process involves two steps:

1. Step 1: Apply for Admission

• Submit an application for a London-based MSc program via LSHTM’s online portal.

• Pay the GBP 50 application fee promptly to avoid delays.

2. Step 2: Apply for the Scholarship

• Upon submitting the MSc application, you will receive an email with a link to the scholarship application portal.

• Search for “GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders,” complete the online form, and submit it by the deadline.

• Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
