Applications are now open for the Erasmus Mundus International Master in Innovative Medicine (IMIM) program.
IMIM is a prestigious two-year master's program designed to train the next generation of leading translational biomedical researchers. Jointly organized by four top European universities—University of Groningen (Netherlands), Heidelberg University (Germany), University of Tartu (Estonia), and Uppsala University (Sweden)—the program equips students with the skills and knowledge to excel across disciplines, sectors, and countries. The IMIM program emphasizes hands-on learning, cutting-edge research, and collaboration, preparing students to tackle real-world challenges in biomedical sciences.
With a strong focus on innovation and industry, the program also includes internships and joint events with workshops on presentation, communication, teamwork, and entrepreneurship.

Programme Structure
The IMIM programme offers an integrated curriculum that builds on four well-established, English-taught Master's programmes at the four European partner institutions:
MSc Molecular Medicine and Innovative Treatment at the University of Groningen
MSc Translational Medical Research at Heidelberg University
MSc Molecular Medicine and MSc Medical Research at Uppsala University
MSc Bioengineering at Tartu University
As an IMIM student, you will choose a programme to join for the first year of your IMIM programme and another programme for your second IMM year. You will thus consecutively be enrolled in and participate in two of these programmes and spend the respective year at the corresponding institution.

Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the **Erasmus Mundus International Master in Innovative Medicine (IMIM)** program, you need to meet the following criteria:
1. Educational Background**: A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in fields such as biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical sciences, genetics, molecular biology, biotechnology, medicine, dentistry, or similar disciplines
2. Academic Excellence: A proven record of academic and/or extracurricular excellence, such as a high GPA or research experience.
3. Language Proficiency: Strong English skills, as the program is conducted in English. See English language proficiency tests and exemptions here
4. Motivation: A strong motivation to pursue a career in translational biomedical sciences and research.
Application Procedure & Documents
Applications for the IMIM programme are submitted online through the online application portal which will open on Nov. 1st, 2024.
You'll need to prepare the following documents for your online application:
Bachelor's Diploma or official Statement of Expected Graduation issued by your university.
Transcript of Records or official Statement of Registration for the courses issued by your university.
English language test or proof of English test exemption.
Reference form filled out by the referee.
Curriculum Vitae.
Passport.
• Note: You may apply before you have taken an English language test or while your test score is still insufficient. However, you will need your proof of English ready no later than February 15th, 2025, at 23:59 hrs (CET).
