1. Guangdong Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship

• Value: 20,000 RMB

• Eligibility: Awarded to qualified candidates based on academic performance

• Application: Can be applied for annually, but tuition fees cannot be deducted directly

2. Education Fund for Freshmen

• Value: 30,000 RMB (for undergraduate students with excellent academic performance)

• Alternative Option: If the student wins the Guangdong Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship, they will receive a 10,000 RMB freshman fund instead, distributed monthly

• Tuition Fee Deduction: Not applicable

Eligibility Criteria

1. Non-Chinese citizens aged 18-40 with valid passports (expiration date beyond December 31, 2025)

2. Good physical and mental health, meeting China’s medical examination standards

3. Strong academic performance with no history of disciplinary violations

4. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

5. Language proficiency:

- English-taught programs: IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL IBT 80 / Duolingo 112 or equivalent

- Chinese-taught programs: HSK 5 (score of 210 or above)

6. Mathematics background required for International Trade and Digital Economy programs

Application Procedure

1. Application Submission

2. Pay a non-refundable application fee of 500 RMB ($80 USD)

2. Required Documents

• Completed Application Form (here)

• Scanned copy of passport (valid until after Dec 31, 2025)

• Academic transcripts (notarized English/Chinese translation if necessary)

• Bachelor’s diploma and degree certificate (notarized translation if needed)

• Two Recommendation Letters from associate professors or professors

• Resume (following the provided template)

• Statement of Financial Support & Bank Deposit Certificate (minimum 40,000 RMB)

• Four passport-sized photos (white background)

• Study and Research Plan

• Language proficiency certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo, or HSK for Chinese-taught programs)

• Physical Examination Form (valid within 6 months)

• Non-Criminal Record Certificate (valid within 6 months, translated if necessary)

• Scholarship application form (if applying for a scholarship, available here)

• Any published papers, awards, or additional certificates (optional)

3. Selection Process

• Qualification Review: GDUFE evaluates applicants’ academic and language qualifications

• Interview: Shortlisted applicants will attend an online or offline interview

• Admission Results: Successful applicants will receive an admission letter and visa application documents

4. Visa and Arrival

• Students must apply for an X1/X2 visa and complete residence permit formalities within 30 days of arrival
