Central South University (CSU) in China is offering the 2025 Silk Road Scholarship Program, a fully funded opportunity for international students pursuing Master's or Doctoral degrees. This program is designed to foster academic exchange and cooperation among countries along the Belt and Road Initiative.

 

🎓 Scholarship Overview

The Silk Road Scholarship provides comprehensive financial support, including:

  • Tuition Fees: Fully covered

  • On-Campus Accommodation: Provided

  • Medical Insurance: Included

  • Monthly Stipend:

    • ¥3,000 for Master's students

    • ¥3,500 for Doctoral students


🌏 Eligible Countries

This scholarship is available for students from select countries, including Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Yemen, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Morocco, and Zambia.


📚 Eligible Majors

Applicants can choose from the following fields of study:

  • Computer Science and Technology

  • Control Science and Engineering

  • Traffic and Transportation Engineering

  • Civil Engineering

  • Geological Resources and Geological Engineering

Programs are available in both Chinese and English.

 

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be non-Chinese citizens with good health and no criminal record

  • Be under 35 years old for Master's programs and under 40 for Doctoral programs

  • Not have received funding from other organizations

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the language of instruction:

    • Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 4 with a score of 260 or above

    • English-taught programs: IELTS score of 6.0 or TOEFL score of 85

  • Possess a strong academic background and research potential


ℹ️ Applicants from countries where Chinese or English is the official language or who have completed a degree in these languages may be exempt from language proficiency requirements.

 

📝 Application Process

  1. Online Application:

    • Register and submit your application through the CSU International Student Online System: https://csu.17gz.org/member/login.do

    • Also, apply through the Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) portal: http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login

    • Select program category in Type B. Agency number of Central South University: 10533. Fill in the information, submit it online and print the application form.

  2. Required Documents:

    • Passport copy

    • Highest degree certificate and transcripts

    • Language proficiency test scores

    • Research proposal or study plan

    • Two recommendation letters

    • Acceptance letter from a CSU professor (if available)

    • Physical examination record

    • Non-criminal record certificate

    • Personal statement video (approximately 1 minute in MP4 format)

    • Statement confirming no other scholarship funding

  3. Application Fee:

    • A non-refundable application and review fee of ¥500 is required after passing the initial review.

  4. Review and Notification:

    • Applications will undergo academic and final reviews.

    • Shortlisted candidates will receive admission notices and visa application forms by July 31, 2025.

    • Enrollment is scheduled for early September 2025.
