Application Procedure

Here’s how to apply for the USEFP Fulbright Scholarship:

1. Online Application:

Interested candidates must Submit their applications online through the USEFP website. No paper submissions are accepted.

2. A Complete Application Package includes:

  • Online application form

  • GRE score report

  • Scanned transcripts, including an explanation of the grading scale of the university issuing the degree should be uploaded.

ℹ️ Please note that HEC-attested documents are preferable with the application but degree and transcripts attested by the issuing authority will be acceptable at the time of application.

3. GRE and TOEFL Provisions and Notes:

Ideally, you should have your test score report uploaded with the application. If you don't have your score report by the deadline you can mention the unofficial scores and upload the proof of your registration with the application showing that you've already taken the exam before the deadline.

📌 Minimum GRE Scores

  • Each Section: Minimum score of 145

  • Field Specific: Higher scores in sections most relevant to your field (e.g., higher verbal scores for English literature, higher quantitative scores for engineering)

📍Placement

  • GRE Scores are crucial for placement at U.S. universities.

  • Different disciplines have specific GRE score requirements.

🤔 Humanities/arts applicants and Quantitative GRE section

Since you are in the humanities/arts your verbal score will be given more weightage but your overall GRE score does matter in making your application more competitive. Do not let fear of the quantitative portion of the exam stop you from applying. Many people with low scores have been successful. If the field in which you are applying does not require quantitative skills, you may mention that somewhere in your application.

ℹ️ Considerations

  • It is understood that students coming from private English-medium schools may have an advantage in the verbal portion of the GRE and such factors are taken into account in determining merit.

💡GRE Preparation Resources

You can access GRE Verbal and Quantitative Prep. Video series made by available USEFP's GRE teachers and Fulbright Alumni on this webpage.

🔠 Regarding the TOEFL

TOEFL is not mandatory with the application, only the selected candidates will be required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
