EMJM GLOBE Program Summary
Start Date
The 1st edition of the GLOBE EMJM will start on September 25.
Host Universities
1st semester: Madrid (Spain) at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC)
2nd semester: Bangor (UK) at Bangor University
Summer School: Tlaxcala (Mexico), hosted by Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala
3rd semester: Lisbon (Portugal) Universidade de Lisboa
4th semester: Master thesis at Madrid, Lisbon, Bangor, Tlaxcala, or any Associated Partner.
GLOBE Scholarship and Financial support
As the rest of all Erasmus Mundus programs, scholarships are available and awarded on a competitive basis to a subset of the applicants selected for admission. The scholarship will cover the following:
Full tuition fees waiver for 24-months
Monthly stipend of 1,400€ to cover expenses such as living costs, accommodation, travel etc.
Coverage for all participation fees

GLOBE Erasmus Mundus Joint Master will recruit up to 25 well-motivated students from all over the world. Candidates from a range of disciplinary backgrounds are encouraged to apply, as long as they can demonstrate academic excellence and a passion for the ecological, social, economic and political challenges posed by contemporary environmental change.
Admission requirements
Candidates must fulfil the following admission requirements:
• BSc. degree or equivalent: corresponding to a minimum of 180 European credit (EC) units in accordance with the European credit transfer and accumulation System (ECTS).
• Qualifying Bachelor’s degrees include biology, environmental sciences, forestry, geography, natural resources, political sciences or economy, environmental law– or an equivalent Bachelor’s degree.
• Language proficiency documentation: a minimum of B2 English Level under language proficiency of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. Accepted English language proficiency certificates are:
(IELTS) – minimum score 5.5.
TOEFL iBT- at least 72 points.
Cambridge – minimum grade B2, minimum score 160.
• Exception: Students who are nationals of a majority English-speaking country or have graduated from a university in a majority English-speaking country (as defined here by the UKVI) will be exempt from providing an English level certificate.
