This ten-month fully funded leadership program brings together talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and networks to make a meaningful impact in Canada. Action Canada Fellowship Overview
The Action Canada Fellowship is designed to develop the next generation of Canadian leaders. Fellows engage in a rigorous and immersive experience that provides:
A comprehensive understanding of Canada, including its major sectors, institutions, and policy challenges
Exposure to public policy-making processes, learning to develop effective and responsive policies
Leadership development, enhancing self-awareness, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills
A strong national network, connecting Fellows with peers, mentors, and key decision-makers
Fellowship Activities
Throughout the fellowship year, participants will take part in:
1. Study Tours and Virtual Sessions
Fellows travel across Canada on four immersive study tours, each lasting 4–6 days. These tours provide:
Meetings with local leaders and policymakers
Visits to businesses, government institutions, and Indigenous communities
Leadership training workshops on public speaking, media engagement, and team-building
Virtual sessions are held monthly to supplement in-person experiences, covering key topics in public policy and leadership.
2. Public Policy Research Project
Fellows collaborate in small teams to tackle a significant policy issue related to the annual theme. Over 10 months, they:
Conduct in-depth research
Develop policy recommendations
Present findings to government officials and stakeholders
3. Learning Approaches
The Fellowship emphasizes hands-on learning, including:
Workshops on effective writing, public speaking, and leadership strategies
Seminars with leading figures from government, business, academia, and media
Immersive experiences such as site visits and behind-the-scenes discussions
Group discussions and self-reflection, fostering critical thinking and peer learning

Action Canada Fellowship Eligibility
To be considered for the Fellowship, applicants must:
Be Canadian citizens or permanent residents
Have a demonstrated track record of leadership, achievement, and impact
Be curious and eager to learn about Canada’s policy landscape
Be willing to engage in challenging discussions and diverse perspectives
Commit to attending all study tours and virtual sessions
Be open to collaboration and teamwork
While there is a focus on emerging leaders under 35, there is no strict age limit.
The Fellowship welcomes candidates from all sectors and disciplines, and bilingualism is not a requirement.
