Aus4ASEAN Short Course 2025 | Improving Digital Readiness and Resilience of TVET Systems in ASEAN

If you are a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) professional from an ASEAN country looking to enhance your digital competencies and resilience, the "Improving Digital Readiness and Resilience of TVET Systems in ASEAN" short course is the perfect opportunity for you. The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, under the Aus4ASEAN Digital Transformation and Future Skills initiative, invites applications from ASEAN countries to attend an Aus4ASEAN Short Course on Improving the Digital Readiness and Resilience of TVET Systems.


The two-week short course, scheduled to be delivered in Australia in May 2025, is designed for ASEAN citizens working in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and skills development. It will facilitate an exchange of expertise between ASEAN and Australia on improving the digital readiness and resilience of TVET systems to disruptions through establishing alternative and flexible models using new technology. The participants will have an opportunity to connect with Australian organisations and hear from leaders in the field.

Course Overview

The "Improving Digital Readiness and Resilience of TVET Systems in ASEAN" short course aims to enhance the capacity of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) systems to adapt and respond to digital advancements and disruptions. Funded under Australia’s Digital Transformation and Future Skills initiative, the course is designed for TVET professionals from ASEAN countries and includes both online and in-person components. It fosters the exchange of expertise and builds networks between ASEAN member states and Australia.


The short course will be delivered under Australia’s new Digital Transformation and Future Skills initiative, which was announced as part of a package to support Australia’s Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with ASEAN. This topic has been chosen as it was identified by the ASEAN TVET Council as a priority for its cooperation with Australia under the ASEAN-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.


The proposed schedule is:

  • Online briefing: March 2025 (date TBC)

  • In-Australia course: May 2025 (date TBC)

Eligibility

  1. Nationality: Citizens of (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, or Vietnam)

  2. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher (desirable), at least four years' experience in relevant roles.

  3. Language: Professional working proficiency in English.

  4. Endorsement: Application endorsed by supervisor.

  5. Commitment: Engage actively, foster networks, share expertise, and disseminate learning.

 

Application Procedure

  1. Submit Application: Complete the online application form by 11:59 pm local time on January 29, 2025.

  2. Selection Criteria: Respond to selection criteria (3-4 questions).

  3. Documentation: Submit a CV outlining roles and responsibilities.

  4. Interview: Language competency assessed via Zoom interview.

  5. Selection: Independent selection panel reviews applications and selects up to 25 participants based on merit.

  6. Notification: Successful participants informed in March 2025.


ℹ️ Additional Information

The course encourages applications from women, disadvantaged backgrounds, and people with disabilities. Participants are expected to travel without family members, and DFAT will provide visa support and funding for individual participants only. Gender equity will be considered but is not a constraint.
