Scholarship Overview
The ITH Diploma Course in Hospitality or Tourism Management offers advanced training tailored to the needs of developing countries. Participants gain practical and theoretical knowledge in sustainable tourism, management, and innovation, preparing them to:
Establish and manage tourism or hospitality enterprises
Develop and market tourism destinations
Train and mentor others in their local tourism industries
Courses are delivered in modern facilities and focus on hands-on learning, intercultural skills, and professional growth.
The Diploma Course at ITH comprises:
A General Module
A Professional Module: Choose between Hospitality Management or Tourism Management
An Elective: Entrepreneurship or Teacher Training

Limited scholarships are reserved for applicants from the following ADC priority countries:
Ethiopia
Uganda
Burkina Faso
Mozambique
Bhutan
Palestinian Territories
Georgia
Armenia
Moldova
Additional scholarships are available for applicants from other developing countries listed on the OECD DAC List.

Scholarship Funding and Coverage
The Austrian Development Cooperation Scholarships (ADC) at ITH provides awardees with the following financial support:
Tuition fee
Pocket money EUR 250, - per month
Accommodation in double rooms in one of the student houses in Salzburg
Basic health insurance for emergencies
Meals from Monday to Friday at the school restaurant
Excursions and social events according to the curriculum
Course material according to the curriculum
What is NOT Covered:
Food: Dinner on Friday, food at the weekends and during public and school holidays is not included.
Travel expenses: All students have to take care of their travel expenses to Salzburg and back home.
Visa fees: Applicants are responsible for visa-related expenses, including an €160 fee for the 8-month residence permit.
Personal Expenses: Bear in mind that you are going to need some money for your personal expenditure and entertainment while staying in Salzburg.
Eligibility Criteria
Education: Completed GCE A-Levels or equivalent (sufficient for university enrollment)
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional experience** in the tourism or hospitality industry
English Language: Excellent command of English (certified by TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge or equivalent if not a native speaker)
Age limit: 20 to 35 years

3. Notification of Results:

Additional Requirements
After admission, candidates must apply for a residence permit ("Aufenthaltstitel Schüler") at the Austrian Embassy in their home country. Required documents include:
Visa application form
Proof of health insurance and accommodation (provided by ITH)
Financial evidence for one academic year (or scholarship confirmation)
Passport valid for at least three months after course completion
Other certified documents as per embassy requirements
