Scholarship Overview
The Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship Program is a flagship initiative designed to empower African youth committed to sustainable development. Through peer-to-peer mentoring, expert-led workshops, and a two-week summer school at Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) University, scholars receive world-class training and networking opportunities to enhance their impact on the SDGs.
Programme Structure and Activities
1). Training and Mentoring:
Expert-led workshops on global citizenship and sustainable entrepreneurship
Peer-to-peer mentoring and networking opportunities
Engagement with professional networks and thought leaders
2). SDG Micro-Project Implementation:
Scholars develop and implement an SDG-focused project in their community
Seed funding of $500 USD provided upon successful proposal submission
3). Summer School at MCI University:
Two-week intensive training covering sustainable development and leadership
Fully funded tuition, materials, and participation
4). Certification:
Scholars receive a certificate of achievement upon successful completion of the program, signed by Ban Ki-moon and Dr. Heinz Fischer
Responsibilities and Activities
Scholars will actively participate in training sessions, implement an SDG Micro-Project, and engage with a global network of sustainability professionals. They will be required to submit progress reports and a final project presentation to demonstrate impact.
