GREAT Scholarships are prestigious opportunities for international students to pursue one-year taught postgraduate courses in the UK. Funded jointly by the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign and the British Council, these scholarships provide £10,000 towards tuition fees.
Over 70 universities across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland participate in this program, offering scholarships in various fields such as science, technology, justice, law, and more. In the 2025-26 academic year, over 200 scholarships are offered by over 70 universities across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, offered to international students from 18 countries listed below.
Bangladesh, China, Egypt, France, Ghana, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria,Pakistan, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, Vietnam.

General Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the GREAT Scholarships, you need to meet the following criteria:
Be a citizen and a resident of one of the eligible countries.
You should have completed an undergraduate degree from your home country.
Demonstrate academic excellence and dedication to pursue a master's or postgraduate (taught) program in the UK.
Meet the English language requirements of the UK university you wish to apply to, typically through an IELTS or equivalent test score.
Your chosen postgraduate program must begin in September.
Applicants must be self-funded, meaning they are not sponsored by a government or commercial funder.
How to Apply
To apply for the GREAT Scholarship programme, follow below steps

2). Visit the universities links: Click on the universities links to find out more information and then follow the link through to the university's website.
3). Apply: Apply for individual scholarships following the instructions given on each universities’ scholarship webpages.
4). Get Notified: Successful scholars will be informed by individual universities on the result of their applications.
