Climate Mobility Fellowship 2025-26 Summary
Mode of Delivery: Hybrid (combination of in-person and virtual engagements)
Host Institution: Global Centre for Climate Mobility (GCCM)
Target Group: Young leaders from Africa, Latin America & the Caribbean, and the Pacific, including four from Pacific Small Island Developing States (SIDS)
Fields of Focus: Climate mobility governance, policy, and research
Funding Type: Monthly stipend of $800 for 12 months + other items
Duration: 12 months (June 2025 – May 2026)
Application Deadline: March 15, 2025
Eligible To: Individuals aged 18–30 from the specified regions
CMF 2025-26 Fellowship Overview
The CMF is a year-long program comprising four key pillars:
1. Formal Learning through In-Residence & Virtual Remote Training
In-Residence Program (June 16–27, 2025): A two-week immersive training focused on knowledge-building and policy frameworks.
Virtual Remote Program (August 25 – September 5, 2025): A two-week online training designed to enhance skills in advocacy, communications, project development, and action planning.
2. Hands-on Learning through GCCM Programs Fellows will engage directly in ongoing GCCM activities, including policy research, data analysis, regional programming, strategic communication, and public advocacy, thereby developing practical skills and enhancing employability in the climate mobility sector.
3. Participation in Global Policy Processes
Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in major global convenings relevant to climate mobility, such as:
UN Oceans Conference and Berlin Climate Mobility Forum (June 2025)
UN High-Level Week and Climate Mobility Summit (September 2025)
COP30 (November 2025)
4. Climate Mobility Impact Project
Under the guidance of the Climate Mobility Academy team, fellows will design and implement a project addressing a key climate mobility challenge in their community or region. This project serves as a practical case study, allowing fellows to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts and drive tangible impact.
