Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarship (CF-MGS) at Monash University

If you are enrolled at a graduate research program (Master's or PhD) at Monash University, Australia, then you might consider the Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarships offered by the university to help with your living costs while undertaking your studies.

Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarships are provided by Monash University to support students undertaking Research Doctorate and Research Masters degrees.

These scholarships are co-funded by Monash University and the enrolling faculty/academic unit and are available to help support students with living costs whilst studying at Monash.

 

Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarship Value

The Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarship aims to support students by providing them with a monthly stipend to help them with their living costs and relocation Process if applicable. The total value of the scholarship is $35,013 p.a given as a monthly stipend. Below is a summary of the scholarship's financial benefits:


  1. A living allowance (stipend) as per mentioned on this webpage

  2. A Relocation allowance of $1,000 interstate or $2,000 international

  3. Successful international applicants will also be awarded a faculty tuition paying scholarship.

 

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarship, You must be one of the following:

  • An Australian citizen

  • A New Zealand citizen

  • Australian permanent resident

  • Australian humanitarian visa holder

  • An International student

  • If you are a new applicant, you must have obtained an invitation to apply from the relevant faculty before starting your application.


You must also :


➢ This scholarship is also available to students undertaking Joint Research Awards when Monash University is the home institution

 

Selection Criteria

Monash scholarships are very competitive and are awarded based on your academic record, any research outputs and prior research experience.


If successful in receiving a CF-MGS, ensure you familiarise yourself with the conditions and benefits as specified in the policy and procedures.

 

How to apply

Application for graduate research scholarships is done at the time of applying for your course, unless you are already enrolled. Whether you are a new or current student, the same application process is used for both admission and/or scholarship via our Applicant Portal. You do not need to specify which scholarship you are applying as you are automatically considered for all graduate research scholarships (where eligible).


Important Dates


INTERNATIONAL (Round 1): closes 31 March

DOMESTIC (Round 2): closes 31 May

INTERNATIONAL (Round 3): closes 31 August

• DOMESTIC (Round 4): closes 31 October
