Programme Overview

The Leonhard-Euler-Programme promotes academic collaboration through binational education and research projects. It provides students and researchers the opportunity to work on diploma/master’s theses or doctoral dissertations under the joint supervision of lecturers from home and partner universities in Germany. 1). Funding for Mobility

  • Travel grants covering flights and associated travel expenses.

  • Mobility allowance for university lecturers.


2). Scholarships:

  • Sur-Place scholarships (€150/month for students).

  • Residence scholarships (€992/month for students; €1,300/month for doctoral candidates).

  • Research allowance (€100 per student).


3). Academic Support:

  • Coordination and mentorship by German and foreign university lecturers.

  • Collaborative research environments with long-term academic and professional benefits.

 

What is Funded?

Funding is provided for combined study and research stays by diploma/master's students and doctoral candidates from universities in: Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan), the South Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia) and the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia) at the home university (sur place) and at the partner university in Germany to complete their diploma/master's and doctoral theses.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Leonhard-Euler-Programme:

  1. Be enrolled in diploma, master’s, or doctoral programs at an eligible partner institution.

  2. Have joint mentorship from their home and partner universities.

  3. Be actively working on their final theses.

  4. Students and lecturers from eligible partner countries, including Moldova, Ukraine, Central Asia, the Southern Caucasus, and the Western Balkans

Application Procedure
