Eligibility and Requirements
1. Candidate Requirements
PhD Degree: Must hold a PhD degree or have the thesis accepted for defense before June 1, 2025.
PhD Age: PhD diploma must have been obtained within the last 6 years, excluding documented parental leave. Parental leave can extend the PhD age by double the number of weeks taken.
Host Institution: Must have an agreement with a Danish research institution and ideally conduct the project at a different institution than where the PhD was earned to promote mobility and independence.
Project Start: Must begin the research project by December 15, 2025, unless otherwise agreed.
English Proficiency: High-level proficiency in oral and written English.
2. Research Project Requirements
Data Science Component: Must include a strong focus on theoretical data science research, methods development, and/or innovative applications.
Methodology and Impact: Projects focused on methods development must demonstrate potential application and impact, while application-focused projects must highlight novelty and the importance of new insights.
Research Scope: Must align with the research scope of the DDSA postdoc funder, Novo Nordisk Foundation.
3. Host Institution Requirements
Location: Must be a Danish research institution relevant to the postdoc project.
Support Statement: Must provide a statement agreeing to host the candidate for two years and offer appropriate work conditions.
Postdoc 4-Year Rule: Candidates cannot have been employed in a postdoctoral position for more than two years at the host university prior to starting the DDSA fellowship.
