DREAM+PLAN Scholarships Overview

DREAM+PLAN seeks to cultivate a community of visionary changemakers dedicated to fostering a sustainable, fair, inclusive, and thriving planet for future generations. The program emphasizes research driven by resilience (the ability to withstand and recover from disruptions), restoration (repairing or rehabilitating degraded ecosystems), and regeneration (renewing ecosystems and communities) to address key societal challenges.

 

Program Benefits and Financial Arrangements

  1. Dual Doctorates: Opportunity to earn dual PhDs through joint supervision by European and Australian institutions (excluding positions based in the UK and Switzerland).

  2. Innovative Research Projects: Engage in cutting-edge projects aimed at driving climate-positive futures.

  3. Employment Contract: Full-time employment for 48 months, including social security coverage.

  4. International Experience: Up to a 12-month residential stay in Australia.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Academic Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Master's degree or equivalent that qualifies them for PhD enrollment.

  2. Mobility Rule: Candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting institution for more than 12 months in the three years immediately before the recruitment date.

  3. Early-Stage Researchers: Applicants should not have been awarded a doctoral degree and must be in the first four years (full-time equivalent) of their research careers.

  4. English Proficiency: Evidence of English language proficiency is required, varying by institution.

 

Application Procedure

✨ Before starting your application, Applicants are invited to carefully read the instructions provided on DREAM+PLAN website and Guide for Applicants and make sure you have prepared all the supporting documents required.


1). Online Application:

Interested candidates can Submit their applications through the SlideRoom online portal by March 13, 2025. Applicants can apply for up to three different positions (see Position Description at https://www.dreamplusplan.eu/)., each corresponding to a specific research project.


2. Required Documents:

  • Completed application form and declaration of meeting MSCA and mobility criteria.

  • Scanned copy of a valid photo ID (passport or national ID).

  • Curriculum vitae detailing education, work, and research experience.

  • Motivation letter explaining interest in the program and chosen projects.

  • Official academic degree(s) and transcripts.

  • Proof of English proficiency.

  • Two letters of recommendation from university lecturers or scientists familiar with the applicant's academic work.

  • Portfolio: Submit a 3 minute video in which you pitch your research.

  • Optional: A one-page overview of the Master's (or equivalent) research project.

 

Additional Information

  • Selection Process: The selection involves six main steps over seven months, including eligibility checks, evaluations, interviews, and final rankings.

  • Onboarding: Successful applicants are expected to sign employment contracts and commence their positions within three months of acceptance.
