Call for Registration: ECOSOCC's African CSO Working Group on Climate Change 2025

The Economic, Social, and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) of the African Union is inviting African experts and advocacy groups to join its Working Group on Climate Change in preparation for the 2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30). This collaborative initiative aims to integrate civil society perspectives into the African Union's climate change agenda, ensuring the continent's active participation in COP30, scheduled for 10–21 November 2025 in Belém, Brazil. CSO Working Group on Climate Change Overview

The Working Group on Climate Change will facilitate the integration of civil society perspectives into the African Union's climate change agenda. Members will contribute to the development of policies and advocacy strategies to address the environmental, economic, and social impacts of climate change across Africa.


Key Objective

Members of the Working Group will engage in the following key activities:

  1. Policy Development: Craft actionable recommendations on climate change mitigation and adaptation.

  2. COP30 Preparations: Ensure African priorities are represented in COP30 discussions.

  3. Capacity Building: Organize webinars, workshops, and events to enhance civil society engagement.

  4. Research: Conduct studies to support evidence-based advocacy at COP30.

  1. Complete the Registration Form: Interested experts and organizations should fill out the registration form available on the ECOSOCC website.

  2. Submit by Deadline: Ensure the application is submitted by 31 March 2025.
