Scholarship Overview
The "Séjours Scientifiques de Haut Niveau (SSHN)" component of the "France Excellence" programme is designed to support Ghanaian academic and research staff in undertaking short-term scientific stays in France. The primary goal is to strengthen cooperation between Ghanaian and French institutions through collaborative research and knowledge exchange.
Scholarship Benefits
Financial Support: The scholarship covers international travel, provides a monthly stipend, and includes health and repatriation insurance.
Accommodation Assistance: Scholars can have their accommodation arranged via Campus France Paris, with rent costs deducted from the provided grant.
Professional Development: Engage in collaborative research projects, seminars, and conferences, enhancing both personal and institutional capacities.
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: Applicants must hold Ghanaian nationality. Binational candidates holding the nationality of a European Union country are not eligible.
Academic Qualification: Open to PhD students and PhD holders. Those who obtained their doctorate within the last five years are considered "young researchers," while those who earned their doctorate more than five years ago are classified as "confirmed researchers."
Professional Status: Candidates must have a tenure position in a public or private higher education institution or scientific research laboratory in Ghana.

2. Host Institution Invitation: Obtain a letter of invitation from a French higher education or research institution detailing the activities to be undertaken during the stay.
3. Cover Letter: Provide a cover letter explaining the choice of host institution, alignment with past achievements, relevance to current research, and potential for future collaborations.
4. Work Plan: Submit a detailed work plan with a clear timetable demonstrating the preparation and objectives of the mobility.
5. Additional Documents: Include any other supporting documents that may strengthen the application.

Applications will be evaluated based on the project's clarity, added value, and potential impact on personal, institutional, and cooperative levels.
Preference may be given to applications proposing co-financing arrangements.
Successful applicants will be notified via email by May 30, 2025, with further instructions on travel arrangements and visa applications.
Mobilities must be confirmed by June 15, 2025; unconfirmed scholarships will be reallocated to candidates on the waiting list.
The scholarship cannot be deferred to the following year for any reason.
