The Laboratory of Nanoscale Electronics and Structures at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland) is inviting motivated PhD students to apply for several PhD studentships available at the institution.
Headed by Prof. Andras Kis. Highly motivated students will have an opportunity to work on projects related to novel nanoelectronic devices based on 2D materials as well as nanomaterial growth. PhD projects in the group cover a broad range of topics related to the science and technology of 2D semiconductors, including quantum transport, optics and optoelectronics, synthesis, field-effect and nanomechanical devices.
Requirements
Master’s degree in physics, electrical engineering or materials science
Proficiency in spoken and written English
Previous experience in cleanroom processing, electron microscopy, scanning probe microscopy, instrumentation programming or thin film growth is desirable.
