Applications are now open for students interested in applying for The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Public Health in Disasters. (EMJM PHID) is a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to address public health challenges in disaster situations. This program is a collaboration between the Universidad de Oviedo (Spain), Karolinska Institutet (Sweden), and the University of Nicosia (Cyprus). Sponsored by the European Union, the program emphasizes hands-on learning, research opportunities, and international collaboration to prepare students to improve the resilience of communities affected by disasters.

Eligibility Criteria
The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Public Health in Disasters accepts applications from both, Scholarship-seeking students as well as self-financing students.
There are two categories of awarded scholarship for this program, Partner Country students and Programme Country students. To check where you particularly fall between both categories, navigate to this webpage.
To be eligible to apply for this program, you must satisfy below requirements:
1. Educational Background:
Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent in areas related to Health, Management and Administration, Laws or Social or Technical sciences.
2. Academic Excellence: A strong academic record, typically a high GPA, and/or relevant research experience.
3. Language Proficiency:
Applicants must prove a Proficiency in English equivalent to the C1 English level in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), as detailed below:
IELTS: minimum score 6.5 overall with 6.5 in writing and a minimum of 6.0 in all other elements, or
TOEFL (IBT): minimum score 79 points with at least 20 points in the writing section, or
TOEFL (paper based): minimum score 550 points
-Students whose native language is English and who originate from the UK, Ireland, USA, Australia, New Zealand and Canada are exempt from this requirement, provided that language of instruction at school/ undergraduate/ postgraduate level was English.
NOTE: Please note that EMJM PHID is very competitive: only the highest ranked of the selected applicants will be offered an Erasmus Mundus scholarship. Other accepted applicants will be placed on the reserve list for Erasmus Mundus scholarships.
Applications will be considered solely on the basis of their academic merits, abilities and potential.
Application Procedure and Documents
Candidates must fill in the online application and upload all supporting documents in digital form, including the relevant certificates and transcripts of previous studies.
During your application you'll be asked to upload the following documents:
Passport copy
Certificates and diplomas from previous universities studies;
Transcript of Records
Syllabus or description of the courses taken in the fields of Health, Logistics, Sociology related to the programme.
English language certificate to prove proficiency as stated in the EMJM PHID admission criteria above
Motivation letter (250 words Max)
Letter of reference – minimum 2 letters, preferably one letter from an academic viewpoint and one from an employer. Reference letters must be written in English and must be signed / stamped.
CV with information about relevant experience and professional training.
