Curriculum, Program Structure, and Tracks

The PROMISE program is structured to provide a comprehensive education in sustainable mineral and metal processing engineering. The curriculum includes modules on mineral processing, metallurgical engineering, chemical engineering, materials and mineral resources engineering, earth resources engineering, and related fields. The program is divided into four semesters:


  1. First Semester: Study at the University of Oulu, Finland

  2. Second Semester: Study at Montanuniversität Leoben, Austria

  3. Third Semester: Study at either the University of Zagreb, Croatia or Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Chile

  4. Fourth Semester: Work on the thesis in any of the participating countries

 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Open to outstanding international students from any country

  • Academic Qualification: Minimum BSc degree in relevant engineering fields

  • Language Proficiency: Professional working proficiency in English

  • Experience: Demonstrated contributions to their institution, community, or society

  • Commitment: Strong interest in sustainable mineral and metal processing engineering and commitment to the development of the sector

 

Application Procedure

Applications for the PROMISE program are open from October 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024. Interested applicants should submit the following materials:


  1. Statement of Interest: Explanation of why they are applying and their plans after graduatin

  2. Detailed resume or curriculum vitae

  3. Supporting Documents: Certificates and other relevant documents

  4. Short Paragraphs: Four short paragraphs related to academic achievements, contributions to institution/society, leadership and communication abilities, and interest in integrating into and contributing to the sector

  5. Online Application: Complete the online application form available on the PROMISE website and upload all supporting documents
