ETH Robotics Student Fellowship 2025 Overview

The ETH Robotics Student Fellowship is designed to immerse participants in advanced robotics research. Fellows will:


1). Engage in Research Projects:

Collaborate with leading experts in one of ETH Zurich's renowned robotics labs, such as:

  • Computational Robotics Lab

  • Robotic Systems Lab

  • Autonomous Systems Lab

  • Computer Vision and Geometry Group

  • Sensory-Motor Systems Lab

  • Soft Robotics Lab


2). Participate in Networking Events:

Attend on-site social events to connect with peers, current ETH students, and faculty members.


3). Experience Swiss Culture:

Explore Zurich and its surroundings, enriching both professional and personal development.

 

Financial Arrangements and Benefits

  1. Stipend: CHF 4,000 to cover housing and living expenses.

  2. Travel and Visa: Reimbursement of travel expenses up to CHF 1,200 for overseas flights and CHF 500 for shorter distances; visa expenses are also covered.

  3. Accommodation: Provided and paid for out of the stipend beforehand.

 

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Academic Standing: Enrolled in a Master's program in robotics or a closely related field (e.g., electrical engineering, mechanical engineering). Exceptional final-year undergraduate students from top institutions are also eligible.

  2. Graduation Date: Expected graduation no earlier than spring 2026.

  3. Availability: Must be able to attend the entire fellowship period from June 30 to August 29, 2025.

  4. Language Proficiency: The program is conducted in English; a good working knowledge is required, though formal evidence is not necessary.

 

Application Procedure

Interested candidates should prepare the following documents in English (PDF format, max 10 MB per file):

  1. Curriculum Vitae (CV): Preferably in the Europass format.

  2. Official Academic Transcript: From your home university.

  3. Letter of Motivation (max 1 page): Describe your chosen scientific area of research, what you hope to accomplish at ETH, and how it will support your academic and research career.

  4. Two Academic Referees: Provide contact details for two academic referees (e.g., thesis supervisor, course professor). Referees should submit a letter of recommendation using the provided form.

  3. Submit Application: Complete the online application form and upload the required documents.
