ETH Robotics Summer School Overview
The ETH Robotics Summer School 2025 is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of robotics through a blend of theoretical lectures and practical tutorials. The program includes:
Lectures: Covering fundamental concepts in robotics.
Hands-on Tutorials: Allowing participants to program semi-autonomous rough-terrain unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs).
Testing Sessions: Opportunities to extensively test UGVs in various environments.
Search and Rescue Competition: A challenge where participants can apply their skills in a simulated search and rescue scenario.
This year's edition is organized in collaboration with the euROBIN network, exposing students to the latest research in robotics in Europe through keynote talks. The tutorials and hands-on sessions will take place at a dedicated education and training center for search and rescue.
The summer school will run alongside the week-long exercise sessions ARCHE (Advanced Robotic Capabilities for Hazardous Environments), where research teams from Switzerland and around Europe will deploy various robots, including legged robots, teleoperated excavators, amphibious vehicles, and UAVs, in challenging environments such as collapsed, burning, or flooded buildings. Specialists from different organizations will share their knowledge during these sessions.
