As part of the national research program (WASP), the Department of Computer and Information Science (IDA) at Linköping University is looking for a PhD student in computer science. Below details of this position.
Role description and responsibilities
This PhD position will be working as part of Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP), which is Sweden's largest individual research program ever, a major national initiative for strategically motivated basic research, education and faculty recruitment. The program addresses research on artificial intelligence and autonomous systems acting in collaboration with humans.
As a doctoral student, you devote most of your time to doctoral studies and the research projects of which you are part. Your work may also include teaching or other departmental duties, up to a maximum of 20% of full-time.
The research for the advertised position will be within the WASP PhD project ”Parallel AI Planning”, which aims at developing the first AI planning system that exploits modern multi-core processors.
The project will involve both theoretical and experimental work.
Qualifications
A master’s degree in computer science or completed coursework amounting to at least 240 ECTS-credits including at least 60 ECTS-credits from the second cycle in the field of computer science
Previous experience in areas such as automated planning, reinforcement learning,
Excellent study results
Very good programming skills
Proficiency in oral and written communication in English.
