The Center of AI Governance (GovAI) is excited to announce the Summer Fellowship 2025. This fellowship offers an unparalleled opportunity for early-career individuals and established professionals new to AI governance. Participants will spend three months deepening their knowledge of AI governance, working on research projects, and building valuable connections with experts in the field. Here are the details!

 

GovAI Summer Fellowship Summary

  • Host organisation: Centre for AI Governance (GovAI), UK

  • Duration: Three months, between 9 June and 31 August 2025

  • Location: London, UK

  • Research Focus: Conduct independent research on AI governance topics.

  • Stipend and Support: Fellows will receive a stipend of £11,000, plus support for travelling to London.

  • Submission Deadline: January 5, 2025.

  • Application Process: Written submission, remote work test, and interview.

 

About GovAI fellowship

GovAI, founded to guide humanity through the transition to a world with advanced AI, launched its first research agenda in 2018. This agenda helped shape the nascent field of AI governance. The GovAI team and its affiliate community possess expertise in AI regulation, responsible development practices, compute governance, corporate governance, US-China relations, and AI progress forecasting. GovAI researchers have advised decision-makers in government, industry, and civil society, and have published in top peer-reviewed journals and conferences such as International Organization, NeurIPS, and Science.

GovAI Summer Fellowship Eligibility and Requirements

  1. Target Group: Early-career individuals and established professionals new to AI governance.

  3. Educational background: There are no specific educational requirements for the role, most promising candidates will typically have relevant graduate study, research experience, or professional experience in related areas.

The application process consists of a written submission in the first round, a remote work test in the second round, and an interview in the final round.
