AIA Scholarship Overview
Established by the AIA Foundation in 2020, the AIA Scholarships are part of a long-term initiative supported by a pledge of US$100 million. The goal is to empower students by providing financial assistance, enabling them to excel in their academic endeavors while contributing positively to their communities.
For the academic year 2024-25, 7 scholarships are available, each valued at HK$50,000 per annum. These are renewable for the entire duration of the undergraduate program, subject to academic performance and fulfillment of scholarship requirements.

AIA Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Be full-time local Year 1 undergraduate students enrolled in UGC-funded degree programs.
Hold permanent residency in Hong Kong or have entered Hong Kong on a One-way Permit.
Have resided continuously in Hong Kong for at least three years prior to the start of the undergraduate program.
Have completed senior secondary education in Hong Kong (local or international curriculum).
Demonstrate excellent academic performance (minimum GPA of 3.00 in the first semester).
Have a record of community service or charitable work before applying.
Must not be a recipient of entrance or admission scholarships from HKBU.
Application Procedure
To apply for the AIA Scholarships:
Complete the application form
Sign the form digitally or with a stylus on page 3.
Compile the signed form with all required supporting documents into a single PDF file. Name the file as follows: `AIA_StudentID_FullName` (e.g., `AIA_23201111_ChanTaiMan`).
Ensure the PDF file is clear, legible, and under 25MB.
Upload the PDF via HKBU's Documents Upload Platform Select the "AIA Scholarships" option.
Submit the file before 11:59 PM on 17 January 2025. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Selection Process
Applications are reviewed based on the following criteria:
Academic Merit: Priority is given to students with outstanding academic achievements.
Community Service: Proven engagement in charitable or community activities.
Financial Need: Preference may be given to students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
Shortlisted candidates will submit a 1-minute self-introduction video by the end of January 2025. The AIA Foundation will finalize awardees between March and April 2025. Selected scholars must attend the award ceremony in September 2025.
