Hong Kong Scholarship on the Clore Fellowship 2025

The Hong Kong Scholarship on the Clore Fellowship Programme is a prestigious initiative by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) in collaboration with Clore Leadership (CL) of the UK. This scholarship aims to nurture local arts management and creative talents to become future leaders contributing to the development of the arts and the betterment of society.

Scholarship Funding Breakdown

Total Value of the scholarship is £35,500 per award, of which a Bursary of Up to £17,750 is allocated to cover:

  • Tuition fees

  • Conference fees

  • Accommodation costs

  • Subsistence

  • Airfares


Additional Coverage by CL:

  • Tuition costs for the two leadership residential courses

  • Accommodation and meals during the residential courses

  • Mentorship with a senior figure in the UK cultural field

 

Training Schedule and Content for the Clore Fellowship Programme 2025


I). September 2025

  • Online Induction Session: An induction session held online in September 2025.

  • First Leadership Residential Course: A five-to-ten-day residential course in the UK.


II). Between November 2025 and May 2026

  • Individual Learning Plan: In consultation with Clore Leadership (CL), formulate a tailored learning plan.

  • Leadership Training: Participate in individual intensive leadership training and tailored learning programmes, including professional skills workshops, courses, conferences, mentoring, and coaching.

  • Professional Skills Workshop: Attend a three-day professional skills workshop in the UK in January 2026.

  • Secondment: Engage in a six-to-eight-week secondment in a UK-based cultural institution.

  • Online Fellows Assembly: Participate in a one-day online fellows assembly in February 2026.

  • Second Leadership Residential Course: Attend the second five-to-ten-day leadership residential course in the UK in May 2026.

  • Mentorship and Coaching: Receive focused support from an experienced industry mentor or coach.

 

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Professional Experience: Minimum of seven years of experience in the arts and cultural sector.

  2. Commitment to Change: Demonstrated commitment to driving meaningful change in Hong Kong’s arts community.

  3. Leadership Potential: Exceptional leadership potential, strategic vision, and a passion for culture.

  4. Citizenship: Open to Hong Kong residents.

  5. English language: Applicant must have an excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.

 

Application Components and Procedures

Each applicant must submit a complete set of the application, including all the following required supporting documents by the Application Deadline:


  1. The completed Application Form in specified Microsoft Excel format

  2. Detailed statements answering specific questions

  3. TWO sealed letters of reference from two professional practitioners in the arts and cultural sector. The letters of reference should be written and sealed solely for the purpose of this application under confidential cover.

  4. A supporting letter from the applicant’s present employer (if applicable)

  5. A structural diagram showing the staffing structure of the applicant’s organisation, with the applicant’s position highlighted (if currently working for an organisation)

  6. English language proficiency proof(s) to demonstrate the applicant’s proficiency in spoken and written English


ℹ️ Referees shall email the letters of reference directly to [ts_submission@hkadc.org.hk] for confidentiality before the Application Deadline. The referees are recommended to state the name of the applicant and the attachment programme clearly in the letter of reference. Once the applicant submits the application, the applicant is deemed to have agreed to waive the right to access the letters.
