The Italian Culture on the Net (ICoN) is announcing a call for interested candidates to apply for 10 scholarships that partially cover their Online Degree Course in Italian Language and Culture for Foreigners. The Degree Course in Italian Language and Culture for Foreigners is a three-year course offered online by the ICoN Consortium on behalf of its member universities. It has been active since 2001 and the qualification awarded is an Italian degree in all respects.
Scholarship Details
The ICoN Consortium Scholarships offer 10 total six-monthly scholarships to partially cover the enrollment fees (in self-study mode), exclusively 5 for the teaching-linguistic curriculum and 5 for the arts, music and entertainment curriculum (coverage period: SEPTEMBER 2024 – FEBRUARY 2025) of the Degree Course in Italian Language and Culture issued in e-learning by the ICoN Consortium on behalf of the member universities. The scholarships are intended for Italians and foreigners, provided they reside abroad and meet the requirements for enrollment at an Italian University; the scholarships are aimed at online attendance in self-study of the first semester of the first academic year of the Degree Course.
Moreover, the assigned student will also be enabled to access the level B2 online Italian course with ICoN, in self-study mode, made available by the Consortium and free of charge.
Scholarships winners will receive a 50% reduction on the six-monthly fee for self-study enrolment. The winners will have to pay a fee of 345 euros (instead of 690 euros) and will also be enabled to access the free ICoN level B2 online Italian course in self-study mode.
The enrollment at a reduced cost will guarantee access to all the educational resources of the Degree Course, which will be made available to students via the ICoN teaching platform, and will give the possibility of taking an exam for each of the courses included in the study plan.
Eligibility Criteria
Both Italians and foreigners residing abroad are eligible.
You must possess a qualification that allows enrollment in an Italian university.
You cannot be currently enrolled in another Italian university.
You need to have an advanced knowledge of the Italian language, which will be tested during the application process.
Application Procedure
1). Send an Email to (infodidattica@italicon.it) in order to express your interest and get notified when the application process opens.
2). Apply online through the website (https://laurea.italicon.it) from July 18th 2024.
During the registration procedure you will be asked to take a test to verify your knowledge of the Italian language: to continue with the procedure and apply. It is essential to pass the test.
3). Candidates will receive a copy of the application to the e-mail address entered in the completed form and are required to verify the accuracy of the data entered, promptly reporting any errors to the “Segreteria Didattica” Office at: (infodidattica@italicon.it). The candidates who do not receive a copy of the application must immediately contact our “Segreteria Didattica”.
4). After finishing the online application, candidates should submit the following documents electronically, either by uploading them to the appropriate area available on the site, or by email:
A photocopy of an identification document (passport or ID card);
A detailed curriculum vitae et studiorum, written in Italian;
A personal statement, made according to the attached template BORSE available here
A one-page letter of motivation, in Italian, which will also be evaluated from a linguistic point of view and in which the candidates must describe both the general reasons for their interest in the Italian language and culture and the reasons why they request a scholarship.
