ICP Connect Scholarship Eligible Countries
Applicants for the ICP Connect Master's Scholarships at KU Leuven must be nationals of one of the 29 scholarship countries as below:
📍Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Guinea, Cameroon, Kenya, Madagascar, Morocco, Mozambique, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Niger
📍Asia: Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Palestinian Territories, Vietnam
📍Latin America: Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Haiti, Nicaragua, Peru
Eligible Study Programs
ICP Connect Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: Be a citizen and resident of an eligible country at the time of application.
University Admission: applicant must be eligible for admittance to the selected Master programme at KU Leuven.
Age: The candidate's age on January 1 of the year of intake must be no higher than 35 for an initial master and 45 for an advanced master.
Language proficiency: Be proficient in English language demonstrable by an accepted English test, e.g TOEFL iBT or IELTS
One Application: Candidates may apply for only one VLIR-UOS ICP Connect scholarship application per year.
Prior Scholarships: Candidates may not have previously received a scholarship from the Belgian government.
Work experience: Preference will be given to candidates employed in higher education, government or civil society, or those targeting a career in one of these sectors. Candidates employed in the private sector or newly graduated candidates with no work experience may also be considered if they provide a strong motivation and profile.
Application Procedure

Login to the web application portal
Complete your personal data (personal data, addresses, curriculum and languages) and save.
Return to the main page ('<' button on top of the page) and check the completeness of each section.
Add an application by clicking the '+' button in the Applications section on the main page of the web app.
Select the academic year, Choose the type of programme and Choose your specific programme by using the search tool.
Complete any additional information that is requested.
Save the data
Application Documents
After saving your application, you must upload all required documents as attachments in the 'Documents' section.
The requested documents depend on the status and programme you applied for. Click on Below button to reach the webpage of required documents.
Pay application fee
You do not have to pay the application fee. Instead, upload this PDF as document type "proof of payment of the application fee" to your online file.
Submit your application
After completing all application steps, submit your application. If your application meets the minimum requirements for completeness, a snapshot of your personal data will be sent to our admissions-database.
