Programme Summary

  • Delivery Mode: In-person training with practical and theoretical components.

  • Location: Training schools are located in Abuja (FCT), Osun, and Kano.

  • Host Institution: Leventis Foundation Nigeria in partnership with respective state governments.

  • Target Group: Young men and women aged 18–40, interested in sustainable farming and agribusiness.

  • Study Level: Open all education levels with a minimum of secondary school leaving certification.

Programme Overview

The Leventis Foundation programme combines theoretical instruction and hands-on practice to equip participants with the skills needed for modern and sustainable farming. Participants will gain exposure to agricultural value chains, farm enterprises, and climate-smart farming methods, among others.


Programme Structure and Activities

  • Classroom-based sessions on sustainable agriculture practices.

  • Practical training on farms, including greenhouse farming, hydroponics, poultry, and fish farming.

  • Special workshops on topics like value chain development and climate-smart agriculture.

  • Regular evaluations through tests and assessments.

 

Programme Benefits

  1. Fully funded training: Tuition, boarding, and feeding are entirely free.

  2. Exposure to modern agricultural techniques and practices.

  3. Development of practical skills for immediate application in farming or agribusiness.

 

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicants must be Nigerian citizens aged 18–40.

  2. Minimum of a secondary school leaving certificate with the ability to read and write in English.

  3. Physically fit and capable of participating in rigorous farm work.

  4. Demonstrable interest in agriculture; farming experience is an added advantage.

  5. Must pass written and oral tests as part of the selection process.

 

Application Procedure

1. Online Registration: Interested candidates can submit their applications online by filling this online application form


2. Required Documents:

  • Handwritten cover letter.

  • Letter of attestation signed by a local government official or Justice of the Peace.

  • Two recent passport-sized photographs.

  • Three reference letters.

  • Photocopies of academic qualifications and other relevant documents.


3. Submit all documents during the screening/examination scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2025.
