The Loughborough Development Trust Africa Scholarship, this is an excellent opportunity for academically gifted students from Africa who wish to pursue postgraduate studies in the UK.
The University will award a limited number of scholarships, and the standards required are very high. Students will be expected to fund their travel and maintenance costs through other sources. Evidence of maintenance funds must be included in the scholarship application. The scholarships are being funded through a combination of generous external funding and University funds.

Scholarship Coverage:
The scholarship covers 100% of the course fees for a chosen postgraduate taught course for one year. It replaces any departmental or Loughborough University scholarships or bursaries that you may already have been awarded
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must satisfy below requirements:
Applicants must be currently domiciled (permanently living) in Africa
Evidence of exceptional academic achievement, typically a first-class honours degree.
A commitment to return to their home country upon completion of the postgraduate program.
Demonstrated ability and commitment to making a significant contribution to their home country upon their return.
A full understanding of the costs involved in studying and living in the UK.
Evidence of strong motivation and initiative to secure funds to cover additional costs.
Application process:
Students can apply for the scholarship after receiving an offer (conditional or unconditional) for a place on a postgraduate taught course.

Applications will be shortlisted initially, and the final decision will be made by a selection panel of senior staff at the University.
Applicants are advised to ensure their application is clear, well-presented, and reflects their abilities and motivation.

Applications for 2024/25 entry are now open, with a deadline of 14 June 2024.
