Scholarship Benefits

The Maastricht University (UM) NL-High Potential Scholarship Programme offers several significant benefits:


  • Tuition Fee Waiver: Full coverage of tuition fees for the duration of the master's programme.

  • Monthly Stipend: Recipients receive a monthly stipend to cover living expenses, amounting to €15,925 for a one-year master's programme and €30,625 for a two-year master's programme.

  • Health & Liability Insurance: Coverage for health and liability insurance during the study period.

  • Pre-Academic Training: Scholars are provided with a pre-academic training programme to help them adapt to the academic environment at UM.

 

Eligible Study Programs

The NL- High potential Scholarship at Maastricht University can be granted for students admitted to various master's programmes across several faculties, including:

  • Faculty of arts and social sciences

  • Faculty of law

  • Faculty of Business and Economics

  • Faculty of Psychology & Neuroscience

  • Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Nationality: Applicants must be citizens of a country outside the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA).

  2. Admission: Applicants must have been admitted to a participating master’s program at Maastricht University.

  3. Age: Applicants must be 35 years or younger at the start of the academic year.

  4. Academic Excellence: Applicants must have an excellent academic record, typically demonstrated by a high GPA (GPA of 7.5/10 or higher) and other academic achievements.

  5. Degree Requirements: Applicants must meet the specific requirements of the chosen master’s program at UM.

  6. English Proficiency: Applicants must demonstrate strong proficiency in English, typically proven by test scores like TOEFL or IELTS.

 

Application Procedure

The application for Maastricht University NL-High Potential scholarship involves below steps:


Step 1: Programme Registration

Register for one of the participating master programmes at UM.

Once you have submitted your application via Studielink, you will receive a student ID number for UM. You will need a student number in order to complete and submit the Scholarship Application Form.


Step 2: Scholarship Application

Log in with your UM account and fill the Scholarship Application Form linked here.


Step 3: Application Documents

Attach to your application the following documents:
