This prestigious scholarship provides an opportunity for African students to pursue graduate degrees online while receiving in-person support in Rwanda.

Program Overview
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at ASU aims to empower young African leaders by equipping them with skills in innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship. From 2025 to 2030, the program will provide 160 graduate scholarships. Scholars will study online while receiving in-person academic support and wrap-around services through Kepler College in Rwanda. Scholars will also enjoy a A fully funded two-month summer program at ASU in the United States between the first and second year.

Full tuition coverage for the two-year program
On-campus accommodation during an intensive summer experience at ASU

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
Be African citizens
Be between 18 and 33 years old
Have an undergraduate degree by July 2025
Have a strong academic record, leadership experience, and commitment to community service
Meet ASU’s academic and English proficiency requirements
Not have started or completed a graduate degree before August 2025
Be willing to reside in Kigali, Rwanda for the program’s duration
