If you are a passionate young leader committed to addressing climate change, the Nairobi Summer School on Climate Justice (NSSCJ) Cohort V – 2025 invites you to apply. Hosted by the Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA), this transformative program equips youth with the skills and networks needed to advance climate justice across Africa and globally. This year, the NSSCJ will be held at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia from August 17 to August 30, 2025, under the theme "Aspiring a Liveable Future – Youth-Led Transformation in the Polycrisis Era."

 

Nairobi Summer School on Climate Justice (NSSCJ) Cohort V Summary

  • Location: Addis Ababa University, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

  • Dates: August 17 – August 30, 2025

  • Academic Level: Post-secondary (open to individuals with at least a high school education)

  • Target Group: Young climate activists, advocates, and practitioners aged 18–35 from around the world

  • Fields of Focus: Climate Justice, Environmental Sustainability, Youth Leadership

  • Funding & Coverage: Fully funded scholarships covering travel, accommodation, meals, and learning materials for selected participants

  • Duration: Two weeks

NSSCJ Overview

The NSSCJ Cohort V offers an immersive experience combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills in climate justice. Participants will engage in discussions, workshops, and hands-on projects aimed at fostering youth-led transformation in addressing climate challenges. The program also aligns with the Africa Climate Summit and Africa Youth Climate Assembly, providing unique opportunities for high-level engagements.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Open to international applicants; a valid passport is required for non-Ethiopian participants.
