The Nairobi Summer School on Climate Justice (NSSCJ), spearheaded by the Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA), invites applications for its fifth cohort in 2025. This transformative program aims to equip young leaders with the knowledge and tools to drive climate justice initiatives across Africa and beyond.

 

🗒️ Nairobi Summer School on Climate Justice (NSSCJ) Overview


  • Theme: Aspiring a Liveable Future – Youth-Led Transformation in the Polycrisis Era

  • Dates: 17–30 August 2025

  • Location: Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia

  • Delivery Mode: Hybrid (in-person and virtual sessions)

  • Languages: English, with interpretation in French and Portuguese

 

🧩 Program Structure

  • Pre-training: Online orientation for all selected participants

  • In-person Training: 12-day intensive sessions focusing on climate justice, policy advocacy, and sustainable development

  • Post-training: Alumni networking and collaborative projects

 

✅ Eligibility Criteria

  1. Age: 18–35 years

  2. Education: Minimum of O-level certificate or equivalent

  3. Language Proficiency: Fluency in English, French, or Portuguese

  4. Passport: Valid passport for international applicants

  5. Engagement: Active involvement in climate justice or related fields

 

💰 Financial Support

  • International Participants: USD 3,500 covering airfare, visa, accommodation, meals, tuition, and certification

  • Ethiopian Participants: USD 2,500 covering local transport, accommodation, meals, tuition, and certification

  • Virtual Participants: USD 300 covering tuition and certification
