NAI African Scholarship Programme Overview
The African Scholarship Programme aims to provide early career African researchers with the opportunity to develop their ongoing research at NAI. Scholars will have access to NAI's specialized library on contemporary Africa, collaboration opportunities with NAI researchers, and networking prospects within Nordic and African research communities. This programme contributes to building capacity in African knowledge production and fosters relations between African and Nordic research communities.

Eligibility Criteria:
The programme is open to two main categories of early career researchers:
1. Doctoral Candidates:
Full-time staff employed by an African-based university or research center, enrolled in a doctoral programme in Africa, and without access to an international scholarship.
2. Postdoctoral Researchers:
Researchers who have completed their PhD within the last four years.
Applicants' research topics should align with Social Sciences and Humanities, focusing on contemporary Africa and relevant to the core principles of the UN Agenda 2030, as indicated in NAI's five impact areas. The institute strives for a fair distribution of scholarships concerning gender and geographic focus and particularly welcomes research on gender issues and the position of women in society.
