The ODI Global Mission 300 Fellowship 2025 offers a unique opportunity for young African professionals to contribute directly to the continent's energy transformation. This two-year, fully funded program places fellows within high-level government institutions, supporting the ambitious goal of electrifying 300 million Africans by 2030.
🗒️ Mission 300 Fellowship Summary
Location: Various African countries (placements within government ministries or offices of Presidents/Prime Ministers)
Academic Level: Postgraduate (professional level fellowship)
Target Group: Young African professionals with a Master's degree
Coverage: USD 26,000 net annual compensation (first year), USD 28,000 (second year), Housing allowance based on the cost of living.
Duration: 24 months
Start Date: Mid to late 2025 (after placement matching and onboarding)
Eligible To: African nationals with a completed Master's degree in a related field, 2–4 years professional experience, and strong English (and/or French or Portuguese) proficiency
🎓 About the Mission 300 Fellowship
Inspired by the longstanding ODI Fellowship Scheme, the Mission 300 Fellowship integrates skilled professionals into government ministries or the offices of Presidents and Prime Ministers across Africa. Fellows will work within Compact Delivery and Monitoring Units (CDMUs), collaborating with entities like the World Bank, African Development Bank, and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) to implement National Energy Compacts.

🕵🏻 Key Responsibilities
Assist in coordinating efforts between governments and Mission 300 partners.
Support the development and implementation of energy policies and projects.
Engage with stakeholders across various ministries to integrate energy solutions.
Provide technical assistance, including policy analysis and financial modeling.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: Open to African nationals.
Education: Master’s degree in fields related to the power and energy sector, such as economics, finance, engineering, public policy, or environmental science.
Experience: 2–4 years of professional experience in relevant sectors.
Skills: Strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in English (French or Portuguese is advantageous).
