The OSCE Secretariat is pleased to announce the call for applications for the third edition of the OSCE Women’s Peace Leadership Programme (WPLP). This program focuses on the intersection of gender, climate, and mediation, empowering women to take on meaningful leadership roles in climate action across the OSCE region and Partners for Cooperation.
OSCE Overview
The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is a key international organization focused on security, human rights, and economic and environmental cooperation across Europe, Central Asia, and North America. It was established in 1975 under the Helsinki Final Act and has 57 participating States.

Programme Activities
The programme offers a comprehensive approach to addressing the gendered impacts of climate change, providing participants with the following opportunities:
Sessions with Experts: Engage with professionals experienced in climate policy, gender equality, and environmental security.
Peer-to-Peer Exchanges: Participate in discussions on gender, climate, and mediation.
Engagement with Decision-Makers: Opportunities to connect with influential actors involved in climate action and environmental governance.
Training Modules: Covering topics such as leadership development and negotiation strategies.
Networking Events: Foster a community of practice with peers and experienced professionals.
Exchanges with Similar Networks: Collaborate with other women professionals in the OSCE, including the network on Empowering Central Asian women in renewable energy.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
To be eligible for the programme, applicants must:
Be a female citizen of an OSCE participating State or Partner for Cooperation.
Have a minimum of 7 years of experience working in climate-related fields such as environmental security, natural resource management, or climate policy and advocacy.
Be fluent in English (spoken and written).
Have a clear interest in and commitment to gender equality in environmental policies.
Be available to participate in the entire programme duration and all its components:
6 online workshops (2 hours each)
One week of full-time training in Vienna, Austria (September 2025)
Virtual group sessions with experienced professionals in climate, gender, and mediation

Interested applicants should complete the application questionnaire and submit it by 23:59 CET, January 15, 2025.
