Sankofatech Achievers in Technology (AIT) program 2025

If you are a Black student with a passion for technology and a drive to succeed, applications are now open for Sankofatech's Achievers in Technology (AIT) program for 2025. This four-year initiative is designed to support and develop the next generation of Black technology leaders in the United States. AIT addresses barriers such as limited industry awareness, misconceptions about tech careers, and a lack of resources by providing participants with mentorship, training, and financial support. Program Overview

The AIT program is structured to guide students through a comprehensive four-year journey toward careers in technology. Scholars will gain essential skills, industry exposure, and access to a network of peers, mentors, and professionals in the tech field. Participants will engage in structured learning, technical interview preparation, and networking opportunities designed to help them secure and thrive in technology roles.

 

Programme Structure and Timeline

1. Pre-Summer

  • Pre Summer Bootcamp to equip scholars with Computer Science fundamentals


2. Freshman Year

  • Monthly Interview Prep Session

  • Mock Interviews

  • Mentorships

  • Scholarship Grant Disbursement ($500)


3. Sophomore Year

  • Monthly Interview Prep Session

  • Mock Interviews

  • Mentorships

  • Conference Attendance

  • Scholarship Grant Disbursement


4. Junior & Senior Year

  • Job Offer Negotiations

  • Job Search Assistance

 

Program Benefits

  1. Annual $500 scholarship award (awarded only in the first two years)

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Must be entering a U.S. college or university as a first-year student in the 2024-2025 academic year

  2. Strong interest in pursuing a career in Software Engineering or Data Science

  3. Must be of African descent

  4. Must come from a low-income household

 

Application Procedure

Applications open in December and close in April. Selected applicants will be invited for an interview in May, followed by participation in the Pre-Program Boot Camp in June and July. Final decisions will be announced before the program officially starts.
