SRI Fellowship Overview

The Schwartz Reisman Institute aims to foster groundbreaking research that addresses the profound ways technology affects individuals and society. SRI Fellowship Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:

  1. Be enrolled as PhD candidates at uToronto (exceptional master’s students are also considered).

  2. Demonstrate a strong research interest in the intersection of advanced technologies and society.

  3. Prioritize their first-time application to SRI fellowships.

  4. Show potential for meaningful contributions to a multidisciplinary research community.

  5. Embrace principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

 

Application Procedure

To apply, complete the online application form, and submit the following:


1. Research Statement:

  • Overview of your research area (750 words).

  • Goals and priorities within SRI (500 words).

  • Approach to interdisciplinary research (500 words).

  • Optional: Address diversity, equity, and inclusion in your research (500 words).


2. Supporting Documents:

  • Curriculum vitae (PDF).

  • Academic transcript (PDF).

  • Up to three writing or research samples (PDF; publications preferred).


3. Reference Letter:

A letter (max 300 words) from a referee describing your scholarly potential, sent directly to [sri.research@utoronto.ca.]

Applicants will be assessed based on:

  • Quality and originality of the research proposal.
