TDR Postgraduate Scholarship at USTTB Overview
The TDR Postgraduate Scholarship in Implementation Research aims to strengthen research capacity in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The programme trains professionals to tackle critical public health challenges, including:
Epidemics and outbreaks
Control and elimination of diseases of poverty
Impact of climate change on health
Antimicrobial resistance
The programme follows a blended learning approach, with on-campus teaching at USTTB and thesis research conducted in the scholar's home country.
Graduates will become part of IR Connect, a global alumni platform that facilitates networking, career development, and impact monitoring.
TDR Scholarship Benefits

Round-trip airfare from the student’s home country to Bamako, Mali

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the TDR Postgraduate Scholarship at the University of Sciences, Techniques and Technology of Bamako (USTTB), applicants must:
Citizenship: Be nationals and residents of one of the following countries: (Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Togo.)
Age: Be 37 years old or younger at the time of application.
Admission Requirements: Meet the USTTB academic admission requirements for graduate students.
Employment: Be employed by an academic or research institution, non-profit organization, or Ministry of Health in an eligible WHO Africa region country.
Supervisor: Identify a local supervisor or mentor before starting the programme.
Computer Literacy: Have basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis software.
