The Mahoney Family Foundation Scholarship was established in 2017 by Larry and Sandy Mahoney. Mahoney Family Foundation Scholarship value
Scholarship recipients receive up to $5,000 to cover costs related to Continuing Education Units, advanced practical training, or post-graduate tuition.
Types of Scholarships and Eligibility
The Mahoney Family Foundation scholarship provides two types of scholarships as below:
1). Nursing Scholarship:
Open to full-time nurses with at least 3 years of experience.
Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.
Designed to cover costs related to Continuing Education Units, advanced practical training, or post-graduate tuition.
2). Teaching Scholarship:
Open to licensed teachers with at least 3 years of experience.
Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.

Scholarship Conditions
Scholarships will be awarded 3 times per year - Spring, Summer, and Fall Semesters- and will be paid directly to the school/organization providing the education/training. Scholarships are granted for only one semester at a time but applicants can reapply for additional semesters. Applicants granted scholarships will be required to provide full social security numbers and grant permission to have their names published on our website.
Application Procedure & Documents
To apply for the Mahoney Family Foundation Scholarship, you’ll need the following documents:
1). Professional Development Plan:
Describe your professional development plan in detail.
Address how the proposed course will advance your workplace or professional goals.
Include course/seminar information and the organization offering the education/training.
2). Enrollment Verification and Tuition Statement:
Provide class schedule and itemized tuition statement from the university or organization offering the courses.
A generalized cost of attendance outline from the university’s website won’t suffice.
3). Letter of Support from Principal/Supervisor:
One-page maximum, on official school/medical facility stationery.
Confirms job description, status, and length of employment.
Indicates support for your proposal and its impact on your development.
