The New Southbound Policy Short-term Study Program 2024 at NTUT in Taiwan

Are you a young student in the Indo-Pacific region who is passionate about the booming semiconductors industry in Taiwan? Do you want to immerse yourself in the diverse culture of Taiwan while studying and earning credits towards your undergraduate studies? Then the The New Southbound Policy Short-term Study Program is for you!

The New Southbound Policy Short-term Study Program is a joint initiative by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT). It aims to promote technology exchanges for young students between Taiwan and countries in the Indo-Pacific region. Students can participate in this program to study Taiwan’s advanced science and technology fields, such as semiconductor, electronics, and AI where they will spend 5 months. The program is fully funded that provides monthly stipends plus accomodation costs as well as flight tickets, which makes it an interesting opportunity that we will discuss here.

 

Funding Details

The The New Southbound Policy Short-term Study program provides comprehensive financial coverage for participating students, this includes:


  1. Round-trip ticket: Up to NTD 15,000

  2. Living allowance: NDT 10,000/month

  3. Housing: NDT 18,000/month

  4. Student insurance: NTD 3,300 (5 months)

  5. Full tuition fees waiver for all AI and semiconductors courses taken

  6. Free Enterprise visits and field trips

 

Eligibility

  • The applicant should be a sophomore, junior or senior at one of the universities in New Southbound Policy countries.

  • The applicant should not be a PRC (including Hong Kong and Macau) passport holder or a Taiwan (ROC) passport holder.

  • The applicant should not be a recipient of financial aid from the government, agencies or educational institutions of Taiwan

  • No English language proficiency required

The program is open to students from below countries:

  • Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand

  • Passport copy

  • Enrollment letter from your University

  • CV


The email title should be “Your name_2024 New Southbound Scholarship Application.”
