Programme Overview

The Next Work Environment Student Competition 2025 is designed to engage and inspire students worldwide to create innovative work environments. Participants can enter individually or in teams of up to three students and choose from several categories: Workplace, Third Place, Experiential, and Pick a Problem. Each category challenges students to design concepts that enhance workplace experiences, support hybrid work models, foster social interaction, and solve specific issues related to the work environment.


Students are encouraged to submit their best classwork or create new ideas that align with the competition's objectives. Submissions should include a written description of the idea (500 words), supporting images (up to 10 JPEG images), and optionally, a supplemental video, Instagram Reel, or TikTok. Finalists will have the opportunity to present their ideas to a jury panel.

 

Competition Categories

  1. Workplace: Design an inspiring and innovative workplace that supports hybrid work while encouraging employees to connect in person.

  2. Third Place: Create a "third place" that supports work outside the traditional office while fostering social interaction and community.

  3. Experiential: Design environments where experiences or amenities enhance the lives of visitors and entice patrons into the building for optimal return on investment.

  4. Pick a Problem: Identify and solve a specific issue related to work and our relationship with the workplace, such as commuting, sustainable solutions, collaboration spaces, or innovative furniture.

  • Team Size: Individual or team entries (up to 3 students)

 

Application Procedure

  1. Eligibility Check: Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria.

  2. Choose Category: Decide on the category or categories for your submission.

  3. Develop Submission: Create a written idea or concept (500 words) and supporting images (up to 10 JPEG images).

  4. Optional: Include a supplemental video, Instagram Reel, or TikTok (suggested length: 7-30 seconds, max length: 3 minutes).

  5. Registration: Complete the registration form with your contact information, educational institution, and graduation year.

  6. Submission: Submit your entry through the provided link by April 25, 2025, at 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time.
