Fulbright TEA Scholarship Overview

The Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program is a fully funded professional development initiative by the U.S. Department of State, administered by IREX. It provides international secondary educators with academic training and field experiences in U.S. schools. The program includes:

  • Academic Seminars – Participants attend lectures and workshops on modern teaching methodologies, student-centered learning, instructional technology, and content-based instruction.

  • Field Experience (40 hours minimum) – Teachers are paired with a U.S. partner educator in a local secondary school, where they observe and co-teach.

  • Cultural Exchange – Educators engage in community activities to foster mutual understanding and explore American society.

  • Specialized Cohorts (Optional) – Applicants can choose the general program or opt for a specialized track in girls' education, STEM education, or technology education.

 

Fulbright TEA Program Benefits

Fulbright TEA Eligibility Criteria

  3. Have proficiency in written and spoken English, with a minimum TOEFL score of 45 to 46 iBT.

  4. Commit to continuing teaching for at least five years after completing the program.
