The Graduate Study Programme (GSP) at UN Geneva is the longest-running educational initiative of the United Nations, now in its 63rd year. This intensive 10-days program in Switzerland offers a unique opportunity for young professionals to deepen their understanding of international cooperation and the work of the UN. Here are the details.

 

Programme Description

The 63rd edition of the GSP will be held from **June 30 to July 11, 2025, in Geneva, Switzerland. The theme for this year is "UN80: United for a Better Future", focusing on the implementation of the historic Pact for the Future as the United Nations celebrates its 80th anniversary. The Pact for the Future is the culmination of a years-long process to adapt international cooperation to the realities of today and the challenges of tomorrow. Its objective is to ensure that international institutions can deliver in the face of a world that has changed dramatically since they were created.

 

Activities

Participants will engage in a variety of activities designed to enhance their knowledge and skills:

  • Morning Lectures: Delivered by representatives of the United Nations, other international organizations, civil sector, and diplomats.

  • Workshops: Interactive sessions to explore key global challenges and solutions.

  • Institution Visits: Tours of various UN institutions and other international organizations in Geneva.

  • Group Projects: Participants will work in groups to research different aspects of the Pact for the Future and present their findings.

GSP at UN Geneva Eligibility

To be eligible for the GSP, applicants must:

  1. Be between 22 and 32 years of age at the time of application.

  2. Be enrolled in a master’s degree, a postgraduate degree, or a doctorate program.

  3. Have a fluent command of spoken and written English.

  4. Have a recommended knowledge of French, as some discussions may be held in French.

  5. Not be employed full-time.

  6. Not have participated in previous editions of the GSP.
