CICOPS Scholarship Overview
The CICOPS (Committee for International Cooperation and Development) Scholarships are designed to promote global academic exchange and support research collaborations between Italian scholars and academics from the Global South. Six scholarships will be awarded for short-term research stays at the University of Pavia. The program is particularly aimed at scholars engaged in development-related research and teaching.
Key Features of the Program:
Candidates must obtain an invitation letter from a University of Pavia professor or researcher prior to applying.
Scholars will engage in research activities that contribute to development, with a focus on establishing long-term academic cooperation.
Selected fellows will have access to university facilities including libraries and research infrastructure.
The program may also include delivering guest lectures or engaging with the university community.
Scholarship Benefits
Fully Covered Travel: Economy round-trip flight ticket to and from Pavia.
Accommodation & Meals: Single room in a university residence and meal card for use at university canteens.
Weekly Allowance: €150 gross for personal expenses.

Eligibility Criteria
Be a citizen of a developing country (classified as low, lower-middle, or upper-middle income by the World Bank).
Have at least 2 years of teaching or institutional experience in universities, research centers, or international organizations.
Must not be enrolled in any doctoral or postgraduate course at an Italian institution.
Be committed to a short-term research collaboration with a University of Pavia faculty member.
Must secure an invitation letter from a University of Pavia professor before applying.
