Eligibility Criteria


The RMIT certifications are suitable for bilingual people who are seeking to learn or develop professional interpreting techniques.

To be eligible for scholarships to support study in 2025 you must:

  1. live in Victoria

  2. speak one of the targeted languages

  3. be an Australian citizen, or have permanent residency (consideration will be given to applications from people seeking asylum)

  4. apply to the RMIT University course (Diploma of Interpreting, Advanced Diploma of Interpreting or Introduction to Interpreting Skill Set) for the targeted language

  5. remain enrolled and meet attendance requirements for each unit at RMIT University for the duration of the program

  6. complete the application and the documentation required for meeting the entry requirements for the eligible RMIT University course by the respective application closing dates.
